Jerry Stiller was married to his wife Anne Meara for sixty-ywo years until she passed away in at eighty-five. Just like Kevin James's wife, she also had several guest appearances on King of Queens over the years. Jerry Stiller's last film role was in Zoolander 2 , which was written and directed by his son Ben Stiller. Jerry will forever be remembered as a comedy and acting legend. After Arthur had been getting out of hand way too often and there is some suspicious activity going on throughout the house, Carrie decides to spy on him by installing a surveillance camera in his room.
In another episode that makes Arthur seem much dumber than he actually is, the character lands a great job, only to get fired when his employer finds out that all of his references on his resume, which includes NASA, are fake.
This makes no sense because, as being as old as Arthur is, he has held a number of different jobs that he has talked about at length, so there was never any need to fake his references.
Here, all these character traits come into play as he decides to host a casino night. In his room, which just happens to be a dingy, rotten basement, one of the few things Arthur owns is a Civil War box set from PBS. He is Carrie 's father and he moved into their house in the basement after he burned his own house down in the Pilot. Arthur has had multiple wives and dozens of jobs. In the beginning of the series, he had another gamer girl, Sarah Spooner , who also lived with the Heffernans but in the middle of the first season, she was written out of the series.
In later episodes, Sarah is never mentioned and it has been said that Carrie is an only child. He is portrayed by Jerry Stiller , comedian-actor. Sarcastic, brash, and always scheming, Arthur lives in the basement of Doug and Carrie's house. Quick to take offense, he shouts frequently and often unnecessarily, and often comes up with absolutely absurd, irregular, or illogical money-making scams.
He is basically a selfish, narcissistic individual who feels the world owes him, and that he needs to be treated a certain way for who he thinks he is.
