When I started Slimming world in October , to be honest I thought the whole place were going off their game. I was converted over. I knew the benefits as I learned week in week out in group about all the foods. The panick set in straight away , I was going to gain back all my weight , I would never get to target, I had just found my feet with Slimming World then this happens.
Once I had my scan done at 9 weeks they scanned me early I was able to tell my consultant I was pregnant but I told her I was still going to follow the plan. When I spoke about it to people, being on plan while pregnant no one could understand why I would do that. Lorraine my consultant informed me she would give me all the pregnancy plan details at the next group. I think when your pregnant you do forget how important it is to have a healthy diet , yes I know pregnancy cravings etc can take over but for me knowing I was being on plan , giving my body the nutrients it needed then I knew the baby would be getting all it needed from me.
I had alot of sickness in my pregnancy which people said that will pass soon …. But I was determined to get back to where I was weight wise pre-pregnancy. I had planned to go back to group as soon as , the c section wore me out though. It took alot out of my body. I came home , enjoyed my baby boy and 6 weeks to the day he was born I knew I was ready to go back. I made the best decisions I could. Really exited as well as worried.. Had anorexia for 2 years but then beat it beginning of the year put On about 5 stone so fast went over weight binging ect one extreme to the other Then fell pregnant after being told I'd never conceive!
Was and still am mega chuffed. Have been eating healthily midwife suggested SW so I have and only gained 2lbs so far but do have a treat night once a week and the occasional treat here and there. Having lots of calcium protein and carbs as well as tons of Fruit and vegetables! What were you doing during your first pregnancy I don't want to be like I was before too strict or binge eating when baby arrives so don't want to be depressed and gain too much weight.
Any help would be great x. Im on EE plan at slimming world i put on 2 n half stone in my first pregnancy and im trying for another if it happens it happens hoping im pregnant now but cant do test yet but yes i never know you could follow it while pregnant but increase your healthy extras to 2A's and 2 B's may speak to my consultant ive lost 11lbs on plan now over last few weeks 3 more an ive lost a stone but i don't want to gain it back i want to eat healthy and keep track of eating and maintain it during pregnancy with exercise too make it easier to lose more after pregnancy xxxx.

Hey guys I hope you don't mind me joining on the Slimming world band wagon I lost 5 and half stone with slimming world before falling pregnant which I know helped me to conceive so I thank slimming world for that.
I am 34 weeks gone expecting a boy my little Jimmy bean :0 and have only gained 12 pounds. I have not starved at all I probably eat to much can you ever eat to much while you are pregnant I love slimming world I know it works but I love that people are trying it half way though the pregnancy and it works too but don't be to hard on yourself you are carrying a beautiful child so maybe look at the weight loss after and just enjoy your pregnancy x x x.
In answer to Jes01kij. Lol you've obviously never looked at the sw plan haha. It's not a diet, just training you to make healthy choices, surely that's gotta be the best for the baby?
Op yes you can follow the plan, your doing best for little one, much healthier than a junk filled or just unhealthy diet so don't listen to what they say. They obv just don't know what they're talking about. Cant remember exactly but think ur supposed to up your healthy a's. I kbow that's what I had to do when breastfeeding. Good luck xx. Therefore, as part of our policy: Any member wishing to continue attending their Slimming World group during their pregnancy is required to gain the support of their midwife. Slimming World do not advise members on their weight change during their pregnancy.
Slimming World group Consultants support the member in maintaining a healthy balanced diet to manage her weight safely as advised by her midwife.
Collaboration with the midwife We have a Pregnancy Weight Management Form for our members to take to their midwife at each appointment. This can be used by the midwife to make any necessary recommendations or suggestions regarding her weight control. If the member does not require her weight to be monitored during her pregnancy this can be indicated on the form. With her midwife's support, the member can then continue attending her group to receive the encouragement and regular support in continuing to eat a healthy balanced diet and remaining active during her pregnancy.
If we notice that a member is losing weight during her pregnancy we will monitor her weight and food intake carefully, following the procedure outlined here: If a pregnant member reaches a cumulative weight loss of 5lbs during her pregnancy - and she hasn't been recommended to lose weight by her midwife - we will ask her to fill in a food diary during the following week in order to check that she is eating a plentiful and varied diet, and is not being too restrictive.
If a pregnant member loses 4lbs or more in any one week during her pregnancy, again we will ask her to fill in a food diary.
If a pregnant member continues to lose weight and reaches a cumulative weight loss of 7lbs - and hasn't been recommended to lose weight by her midwife - we will ask her to consult her midwife, taking her food diary with her to show she is following a healthy balanced diet.
